Traditional meals and drinks.

There are too many traditional foods in Ethiopia, the well known is called Injera (Large spongy pan cake) made of cereal grain(locally called teff) and water,that is eaten with different kinds of sauces called (wat) made of meat, chicken, vegetable, and so on. Injera with Wat is the most delicious food in the world, several people eat it together in the same plate to show friendship and socialization since sharing what you have is Ethiopia's culture. Nowadays Ethiopians use Injera with Wat to their diet. Injera is a staple food, these days you can find Ethiopian restaurants in most big cities in the world including Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Washington DC and so on.

 There are locally produced beverages called Tella and Tejj, Tella is traditional beer made up of barley and malt and Tej is like wine made of honey. Usually older people prefer to drink tella and tej and are always found have it in their house. Mainly we drink Tella and Tejj for holidays and sometimes in weekends.

Ethiopia is very known by having the best coffee in the world. Coffee (Buna) is drunk in a unique traditional way, it have a ceremony where neighbors friends and families get together and drink coffee having such a good time and enjoying.  It is also customary for women to perform the ceremony when welcoming visitor at home.
